Like all new far-right political leaders, Argentinian president Javier Milei has made hate spreading one of the hallmarks of his identity.

In that spirit, he spews insults and denigrates without restraint. One of his favorite targets is Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, whom he loves to disparage despite Brazil being Argentina’s leading trade partner.

This past weekend, Milei attacked Lula untroubled by the fact that he was in his enemy’s territory. “Thief” and “socialist trash” were some of the insults he hurled at Lula when he was prevented by a Brazilian court order from visiting his friend and brother-in-arms Jair Bolsonaro, who is under house arrest following a conviction for a coup attempt.

Taking a page out of the playbook of Donald Trump and his all-star gang, Milei also seized the opportunity to meddle uninhibitedly in Brazil’s domestic politics and urge Brazilians to vote for Flavio Bolsonaro, Jair’s son, who will stand against Lula in the October presidential elections.

In reaction to this new deranged onslaught by president Milei, the IUF Latin American Regional office vehemently rejects such attacks, which are typical of the globally expanding fascistoid Right, and it expresses its unconditional solidarity with president Lula.
